Pent D 3.0
300 Harddrive Sata
ATX mobo
x600 256 mb
1g of regular ram (240 pin) not sure about speed

Im thinking bail on the x600 though it runs bf2, HL2 and other games on all high settings..... The only downside is the resolution of BF2 stays at 800x600

Keelhaul that X600, get at least a 7600GT or ATi equivalent, or better depending on your budget. Then double up on RAM.

I'm thinking about pgrading it to 2gigs but does the ram only have to match on each channel or all the ram?

Because unfortunatly its a HP and that shits expensive

8800GTX i worth every penny (cent in your case)
And RAM helps majorly wth BF2 online play.

Sound advice is what someone said - Wahey for my advice!

What no one seem to take into consideration is can his HP's PSU handle the 8800GTX?

Minimum of a 450 Watt power supply.
(Minimum recommended power supply with +12 Volt current rating of 28 Amps.)

Did you really run BF2 on all high with an x600? Really?
I ran it with default settings (all med i think @ 800x600) & could only pull 30+ fps in Vanilla BF2 & I had 2GB DDR, P4 3.6GHz.

Because of that I'd say get rid of your video card first but if your really somehow playing well on all high with that card then get RAM first, like everyone already stated

yeah it runs all high, at first you get a lil lag, but thats a game glitch. And i can run HL2 deathmatc hon a higher "LCD" res

mine might run higher because you have the 128 version?

And my processors faster.

though you do have more ram i think ill look into that

Ram eliminates all the stuttering.
