You've probably got too much other crap running.

My 3700+ (Sandy), 7600GT with 1GB PC3200, gets about 4000 at stock speeds. You should get more. If you don't I blame it on AM2 being crap.

I just got 9168 with my Desktop. It bumped up from I think 8500 something just by turning off window blinds I think (haven't installed it actually since my reformat)

AMD 4600 OC'd to 2.6 (from 2.4)
eVga 8800GTX at stock settings
2GB Patriot DDR2 @ 800MHz (5-5-5-12)
500GB Seagate Barracudas in RAID 0 (2 x 250GB)

I'm gonna reinstall window blinds & see how much it really hurts me...

Damnit, I'm goin for 10,000 & I'll get it eventually but I just scored 9967 (so f**kin close) with my new processor. I'll break 10k in the morning when I can overclock properly. Everything I've read says the FX-62 can be pushed to 3GHz on air with no stability problems at all & I'm water cooled so it definitely shouldn't be a problem. I'll probably leave it there though, no real reason to push it any further.
