Yeah, I remember the terrorists doing the same thing when Bush got elected and the Republicans took back the House. Doh.

Maybe they said they got the Dems elected because, well, they got the Dems elected.  If the war was going great and a thriving Democracy was in place in Iraq, would the Dems have got elected? What is the alternative the Democrats support (leaving) and what is it the terrorists want the US to do in Iraq (leave). Now if the Democrats supported carpet bombing the region and the terrorist said this I would laugh it off.

I say the terrorists were the Democrats greatest asset in the last election.  The cowarding liberals care more about taking down Bush than succeeding in defeating the terrorists.  I would say that puts the Dems and the terrorists on the same side of a major issue that both of them put above all else, gaining power.
By the same token, I could say the terrorists were the Republicans' greatest asset.  Before 9/11, Bush was a president who many outwardly ridiculed for being so stupid.  After 9/11, a tremendous amount of patriotism and fear consumed our culture.  People who would normally act rationally in the possibility of invading Iraq were still paranoid about terrorism, despite the fact that we conquered the Taliban.

All the Republicans had to do was link terrorism to Saddam to get public support for invading Iraq.  For a short time, this link worked.  As people slowly figured out that this was bullshit, the WMD's idea came into play.   With the people already ambivalent about invasion, they didn't need much persuasion to support the attack at that point.

So, terrorists could be seen as the greatest ally of the Republicans, because they provide the perfect scapegoat for schemes of intervention.  In addition to this, when you have terrorists like the ones mentioned in this thread publicly voicing their support for Democrats, this starts to make people react against the Democrats as seen in this thread.  So, again, this is beneficial to Republicans.

For a humorous parallel, watch the South Park episode about the city considering a change in their flag to represent diversity.  The KKK at first voices their disdain for the flag, but later, they realize that supporting the flag change will make people question the change itself because of their support.  I believe the terrorists are probably doing the exact same thing.

If you know that you're publicly hated by a group, and you want to harm that group as much as possible, you do things that misdirect your enemies.  Misdirection has been a key component to the tactics of both the terrorists and of our own government.....

Major_spittle... all i want to comment on is your tag...

Kerry was not a liberal.
Any real liberal would not have been satisfied with Kerry.
As far as I'm concerned, Bush's failed presidency and all of the controversy surrounding republicans can be rubbed, thousands of times more satisfyingly, back in the face of Conservatives.
I don't hate conservatives... I just disagree with some of their policies... I don't LOVE liberals or dems... in fact, i am really ticked off by the FAR left, because they're just as righteous as any conservative. Moderates don't get anything done... they're flip-floppers...

AS FOR THIS DISCUSSION...
What they said (and how do we know that they actually said that...) doesn't say anything about how dem's are "their party." It's easy to say "WELL LOOK HOW THE DEMS ARE FUCKING OUR COUNTRY OVER BY GIVING THEM WHAT THEY WANT!!!!!!" But does that make democrats the party-members of Al-Qaeda? not in the least! I hate terrorists! you hate terrorists! We all hate terrorists! What a democrat may or may not do in regards to the war does not signify how they feel about Al-Qaeda...
There are other ways, and more efficient ways, to deal with terrorism than war. And explain, once again please, how Iraq and Al-Qaeda are connected?? AS FAR AS THIS LIBERAL IS CONCERNED, LETS GET OUT OF IRAQ, AND MAYBE PUT MOOORRRRRREEEEE (that's right, an increase of...) FOCUS (and troops and money) ON COUNTERTERRORISM. Iraq isn't the place to be.

Well now, Corporate American press releases a tape to stir up opinions on some political victory which encompasses a so called terrorist statement & punters delve into it with great debate whilst the reality is arms are still being sold to these terrorists no matter whether Rep/Dem is in office.

Arms sales talk & Wars will continue so us so called civilized countries & their governments make money. Do you not think all this media bull is simply to conceive a continual numbness & dumbness as to why an enemy is always out there?

Create the problem/ Give a solution

Come on people see past the Corporate media & it political spins to the bullshit reality costing death & Eugenics world wide.

Yep...  You don't have to be liberal to agree with that.  As a Libertarian, that makes perfect sense to me as well.

As a side note, Pakistan deserves more attention from us than Iraq at this point....

coincidence?  I don't think so......
Who flew Bin Laden's family members out of America 9/11?

WorldNetDaily.com

In the immediate aftermath of the Sept. 11 attacks while U.S. airspace was restricted, planes sanctioned by the Bush administration flew about the country gathering some 140 high-ranking Saudi Arabians – including several relatives of al-Qaida chief Osama bin Laden – who were then spirited out of the country within a week of the terror, according to a senior official.

There are other reports of this Bin Laden link...  I'll see if I can find one...  It is true that World Net Daily is pretty pathetic when it comes to primary reporting though...
