You need to read a little closer. The OP never said that a draft was mentioned in the article, he is speculating on whether a draft will be instated because they need more troops for Iraq, plus maintaining troops at other posts.Masterstyle wrote:

As for reserves, we most certainly do not have enough. That is why National Guard personnel have been pulling multiple tours right along with full time personnel. That was the whole point of the article is that we do not have enough troops, and the president wants ideas on how to bolster those numbers.

I'd say it's more likely that they'll lower entry requirements, that way you still get people who are dedicated.
