after playing a round of bf2 i quit to my desktop, where i get a pop up that dissapears before i could read all of it, i saw it said i was running low on virtual memory. today i go to start it up, and this is what it looks like, help me. figure out what is wrong

It's probably your graphics card messing up. Right click on your desktop, go to properties, then setting, then colors. Put it to true color, that should fix it.

Why is your desktop resolution so low.... ew, lol.

dosent that happen when the comp runs in 256 colors?
EDIT: try going into your display settings and changing it to 32bit color

Yeah, it looks like your graphics card died and defaulted to onboard graphics (err, apparently 16 colors)

Right click on 'My Computer', select Properties. Then click the Hardware tab and then Device Manager. Find your graphics card, right click on it and select 'uninstall'. Reboot and tell us what happened.

(That should reinstall your video card drivers, you may need to put your GFX Card CD back in it after reboot to get your drivers going full speed again)

Yeesh even Windows default VGA drivers manage better than that 0_o. If doing what everyone else says doesn't work try system restore to a date before it all went spazzy.
