The US is not a hyperpower. They do not have the economic might of a hyperpower any more. The US is the worlds sole superpower.

Militarily the US could take on not just Europe and Iran, but most of the rest of the world too. They are still in charge from a military perspective. The problems may arise when they cannot afford to fund that military properly.
