zomg teddy is making topic, lol there is going to be some sirious discussing and flaming about this subject

It was germany ALONE.

i dont think they did, all the major countries where made to think the other country was going ot attack them, so britain, france set troops towards eastern france, while germany made a advance through belgum, and austro-hungry was to defend at the eastern frunt against the russians.

theres more to it but i dont know too much about ww1

There was a general arms race at the time, especially between Britain and Germany when trying to expand their navys. In addition, with Bismark dead, Wilhem II tried to mark Germany as a more important power and therefore went colony hunting . French and Brits disapproved because they felt as though the Germans were intruding.

Germany was also asking for it though when giving the 'blank cheque' to Austria-Hungary. This automatically made the allies suspicous.

From what I remember that event started it and then all the countries that were allied with each other kind of joined in. I could be wrong, they don't really teach much about WWI in school.

That was not the 'main reason'. Look at some of my comments earlier and you will see.

WW1 - okey, that wasa bit of a mess over there, declaring war for a murdered prince might not have been the best idea, they've had.

WW2 - Yes, of course hitler was Austrian. That's why he always told that he was a proud German and that his Nation (obviously Germany at that certain point of time) was superior to everything else.

And then again, also Arnold Schwarzenegger is Austrian, yee-haw!


(And no, Germany is not to blame solely for this war, though Blitzkrieg tactics didn't let some of the other states appear as if they had also planned some war tactics, but they were for sure prepared for an assault.)

The migration of upper class German society, out of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, in effort to cause instability in the newly awarded region to Poland left the area available for the Jewish population to thrive as doctors, lawyers, etc...

This occupation caused bitterness in the Germans.

So ask yourself, is it really the Jews fault that the German plan to destabilize the area backfired on them?
