I found this old documentary on a website I check out every now and then, that was made in 1935. It talks about war profiteers in WWI and gives warning to future generations about war manufacturers and nations that want war. What I found startling about it was how almost everything it was talking about actually ended up coming true just 4 years later at the on-start of WWII.

The most startling thing I found however, was between 23-27 minutes into it, where the film was talking about how nations would go about making war for profit. Strikingly and eerily similar to the modern wars of today.

The film is old, grainy and a bit cheesy, but definitely worth a watch.

I don't have time to watch it just now, but I doubt it will change my view drastically: I already believe that most wars are more about economics than anything else. It may change my views on who drives it though. Should be interesting to watch, thanks.

Yeah, it was scary how they, in the film I posted, were saying that the mass re-armorment would lead to another Great War, even bigger than the last and how massive amounts of civilians would be targeted as legitimate military targets. 4 years later that exact thing started happening.

The thing I found the most intresting and most ironic was how France was one of the biggest military manufacturers in the pre-WWII era and then ended up getting thier asses kicked with the materials and technologies that they produced and help produce. Funny how shit works out huh?

The reason for that was that France hit the depression and couldn't afford to properly maintain their forces. People go on about how the French surrendered, what they ignore is the fact that they had no chance.

And this was on a web test, no? Sorry, but whilst I'm sure THA is very bright, the only way to get an accurate IQ reading is through a proper test. Further, IQ tests aren't comprehensive tests of cognitive and interpretive ability.
