Howdy, actually, video and sound.

I bought an Audigy Gsomething card a while back, installed it, blah, blah blah. Not even sure it's working. Anyone know where I go to check and see what is being used?

Also, I just plugged in an NVidia GeForce 7900GS and plugged in the power and the monitor to that card so my assumption is that it's being used, but I'm not sure how to get the best performance out of it. Any tips?

Thanks in advance.

start, my computer, view system information (should be on right tab), then go to hardware then device manager to see what sound card is being used

It's running both and man there is a HUGE difference with this 7900. It's no big deal when you're looking off in the distance during running or something, but when you sight in with the M95, you can damned near tell if the victim shaved or not. Nice...

for the sound card

go to Control Pannel > System > Hardware > Device Manager > Sound, video and game controllers

see if you can see SB Audigy or w/e it is

for me its SB X-FI

if it doesnt show up in the device manager it either means that..

A - No drivers are installed (or installed correctly)

B - Its not connected to the MoBo correctly (like not all the pins are getting a good connection, try switching PCI slot)

and C - The soundcard is broken ( yes seriously this happened to me when i 1st brought my S/C it was bust and i had to send it back to get a new one)

hope it helps
