hola,

firstly this is not a gripe with this site, love it. anyway, 99% of the time of this site tells me at 5 kills a magical monkey will fly out of my butt while playing BF then whammo, right at 5 said monkey flies out. I've never had any issue with not getting badges or awards when I should. I've recieved all the basic badges for special forces (my favorite being the zip line, are you kidding? and how about the 'special ops specialist', not that is a badge filled to the brim with "special" sauce)

bringing me to my point... I flew by the 5 hour SAS requirment tonight, no ribbon. I quit for a few hours, jumped back on, played SAS, no ribbon. are we SURE those requirements aren't 10 hours? just wondering.

Also... 4500 hours for the badges. this is quite humerous to me.

EDIT - rather than posting a new topic, is there any fix on the way for the insane waiting time for loading and verifying since SF came out? I have plenty of patience, but I keep getting kicked from servers for idle time while I'm verifying. bleck.

Much like the original Far East and Middle East ribbons I should imagine you need to have played every map the SAS appear on. There have even been a requirement to have a certain number of wins, but no one is sure.

EDIT: Speaking of ribbons, anyone care to explain how there's an 'Aerial Service Ribbon' when there's no planes on the SF maps.

maybe you can win it on a normal BF map its only a few extra kills from the normal air ribbon

Not sure about the ribbon, but one suggestion for speeding up "Verifying Client" has been that if you defragment the drive that you installed BF2:SF on, it should speed up.

The numbers currently up on UBAR are the numbers given to us via a .py file along with the patch. If these awards are givin out backend like the old service ribbons and medals, then these numbers might be wrong. Just wait a little bit. The game has only been out 4 days or so. Patience.
