I've always wondered.... why is prostitution illegal, but porn is legal? Think about it...

Under our current laws, it is illegal to pay for sex, unless you film it, and then sell copies of that film.

I guess the message is: "Paying for sex is wrong, unless you're very capitalistic about it...."

porn is easier to track and tax as well, however, like prostitution in nevada, porn is near impossible to film and produce outside california, so it's not really that it's more acceptable, but that it's easily exported and more people have access to it.

I guess technically you are paying the porn star to exploit herself for the entertainment of the masses, but nobody but the other star gets to have the sex. Maybe if a bunch of people paid for your hooker it would be legal, provided someone filmed you screwing her?

That could mostly be solved through legalizing it and forcing prostitutes to get tested regularly. If they are discovered to have a disease, they would be banned from the "industry", so to speak.
