Iran's president says Holocaust now up for debate

Iran has invited scholars from 30 countries to attend a conference starting on Monday about the Holocaust, in which six million Jews were killed by the Nazis.

"For 60 years talking about the Holocaust was a crime in the West but now there is a serious debate about the Holocaust in the media and also in political and popular meetings," state television quoted Ahmadinejad as saying.

The international symposium of "Study of Holocaust, Global Perspective" is to be held in Tehran from December 11-12

The Austrian rabbi and chief of the Orthodox Anti-Zionist society of Austria, Moshe Aryeh Friedman, will be there. (omg an anti-semitic rabbi :p )

The Austrian Rabbi also thanked Iran as the best venue for the conference on the Holocaust because it used to remain neutral during the World War II and was not involved in the event.

Friedman described Iran as a model country in dealing with and tolerating religious minorities.

I really hope the western media will cover this event..

Are they retarded or have they just been living under a rock? How can they even remotely doubt the holocaust even happened? There are pictures and videos and all that sort of documentation and they think it's debatable? I hope they fall down a well.

they want to talk about it.. ask question.. try to get answers.. its a crime to even ask questions in some countries.

Everybody knows that those labor camp existed.. and that people died in those camp

but they want to know what really happened there.. how many really died.. how they died.. etc

we all know about the 6 millions figure..

but experts reduced the number of dead at Auschwitz alone from 4 millions to 1.5 millions.. so its a reduction of 2.5millions but the total of 6 millions didnt change. Nobody is even allowed to ask why.

there a lot of other question who need answers

i think its a good thing to talk about this event..
and its not a meeting of neo nazi, even a rabbi will be there..

You are correct and i can say its not only Fox news telling the turth now with regards to the large divergence in opinion between those being ruled and the ruling elites.

This is a very important factor that should be considered when taking look at any country, one cannot simply think that all of Iran wants to destory Israel, or that all of Iran hates the United States.

*scratches head* Isn't there a middle ground here? I support Israel's right to exist, but I don't support all of their actions. I support Iran's right to nuclear power, but I think we need to keep a close eye on them. I think the fact that so Muslims deny the Holocaust is stupid and ridiculous, but I'm glad Ahmadinejad is moving toward the truth finally.

Can we at least agree that nuking Iran is a really stupid idea and that Israel should continue to be respected as a state?
