That sentence has just been pulled directly out of his anus. Why on earth would Iran nuke Europe? It doesn't make any sense on any level whatsoever.  . . .

What makes me sick is statements like "we just don't understand their way of life". Or that we should go out of our way to "try to understand them". It's give give. Are you telling me Iran has no idea how these statements are going to be interpreted by westerners? Is this the way a peaceful minded person speaks? If there is one lesson the Jews should have learned from the holocaust its when someone tells you they are going to kill you, believe them. Of course Ahmadinejad denies the holocaust ever took place.

There has to be a balance. I'm not here to say, "Oh shit we are all going to die.". I understand scare tactics are used to promote government agendas, but when threats are thrown in your direction nearly everyday it would be naive to not listen. Awareness doesn't mean living in fear. Don't counter his statements by saying.. awww he was just kidding. It's just not the way an intelligent mind works.

I had some fundamentalist Christian nutter telling me I was going to die and "rot in the fires of hell for eternity' because I wouldn't listen to his drivel while out shopping last week. Religious fundamentalists have been ranting threats about converting to their particular form of mind numbing control for thousands of years.
Just because the leader of Iran is spouting it, it doesn't warrant anything other than the usual response. Ignore them and they will shut up.

As a Christian I will apologize for the "nutter" you spoke to.  He should have been more sensitive in his terminology.  However, that does not diminish the reality of the existence of hell.  The big difference between Christianity and Islam is this - we do not make people vanish from the earth because they believe differently.  Radical Islam does.  They murder those who refuse to convert in order to further their religion.  We simply tell people what we believe rather than threatening to kill them.  A very large contrast in my opinion.
