Just wondering what's inspired the question.  Are you planning on buying one in the near future?

Yes actually.  I work for a new start-up airline.

Then I think your executives are going to want a better source of public opinion.

They made their mind up already, I am just curious what people think.

Boeing. Airbus are French. 'Nuff said.

Oh and they had the rather ridiculous idea of making the A380 all over Europe, to keep everyone happy. Rather stupid if you ask me, as it seems like just about the least efficient way possible to build an aircraft. Boeing have the right idea, build about 12 of the fuckers right next to each other in the same plant.

A380 is starting to remind me of the Spruce Goose.

Fair do's.

I've not been on an Airbus plane, ever.  For short-haul, all the local companies seem to use the 737 and for longer flights (5 hours is the longest I've done - London to Egypt) the 757 seems popular.

Boeing, no contest.

The Airbus seats are the crappiest seats you could ask for. Uncomfortable after about 3 minutes. I hope the people that selected them in your company sat in the for long enough to discover that. After a 3.5 hour flight, I feel like shit if it's been on an Airbus.

It's so that each individual part is made by specialists that have loads of experience with that particular area. It makes sense when you think about it!

Seats are not made by Airbus.  There are a lot of different seats airlines can choose from.  It is the airlines fault for the bad seats.

For example, RECARO makes airplane seats, they also make seats for high end cars also.

No. Airbus, for the simple reason that in 10 years, they will be ruling the skies.

You don't think the A380 will hurt them?  But, I do agree.  Many airlines are going with A319's and A320's because they get better financing.

You see, you learn something every day, as long as you are open to the opportunity. I did not know that. Thx.

Sat in 747s a lot.. and I have a preference for them, although the upper deck tends to be stuffy. But for long haul, and I mean really long haul 18hrs direct, I sat in an Airbus 340-500. That was a heck of a comfortable flight.

No preference, tbh, as the difference really lies in the cabin design and inflight service
