I didnt know those sorts of "agreements" existed elsewhere than in Quebec. I thought we were the only province/state to tolerate too much minorities's demands. Here, its part of the news, each week or almost, we hear about something that is given to minorities and that remove rights of the "real" quebecers.

For example :

1. A few days ago, some jewish people, in a YMCA, complained about the windows. They said that the windows should be removed or blocked, because they could see, outside, young girls training in "non-decent outfit" and this offended them. So we blocked the windows, the problem is there were more non-jewish people that didnt care about seeing girls outside (or who liked seeing young girls outside ).
2. There were a big christmas tree in a park in Montreal, a few years ago, minorities complained and asked the city to remove the tree, because the tree wasnt a symbol of their religion. They finally removed the tree and there isnt anymore in this park.
3. It's no longer allowed to say the word "Noel" (Christmas) in publicities and tv shows, but we can say "Holidays".
4. Muslims, in hospitals, can get health care before quebecers on Sunday morning, because they have to go to their prayers, all together at the same hour, each sunday morning, and they cant wait until people that came before them get health care.
5. A kid of the Sikh religion, has been allowed to bring a knife at school, because its part of his religion. The problem is, kids that dont practice this religion cant bring knives. (I think I'll fund a religion that obligates people to bring rockets launchers at school, so I'll be able to bring one).

And there are much more, but I cant remember of the others.

I have a philosophy teacher who thinks "religion" is ridiculous and spends 9 out of 10 class time minutes trying to convert us all to Atheism.  (In case there is any confusion, Atheism is as much a religion as Catholicism.)  He has never been reprimanded for his rants, and no one really cares.  If he were trying to convince us all to be Christians, however, his ass would have been fired years ago.

What makes me proud of myself is that, even though I am a Christian, I don't care.  He can say anything he wants.  I wouldn't care if I had a Jewish teacher that listened to happy Hanukkah music all day.  I just do not understand why people care enough to sue, or get people fired, or in trouble or whatever (however, I do understand why the courts have to rule in favor of secularism).

Atheists are truly the most conceited, intolerant, petty-assed group of people I know (and I know a lot of them).

I believe there comes a point in which efforts to appease the minority go so far as to forget that they ARE the minority, and it is a gross error to make unreasonable concessions to appease the minority when those concessions anger the majority.

it's "freedom of religion" not "freedom from religion", if the muslim girl gets to say prayer in class then everyone else gets to do their thing as well, especially if the district is majority christian.

Honestly, you think thats bad, My aunt works as a Fifth Grade teacher, and one day they had a group come in, and they left little pamphlets for the kids so my aunt had her teacher's aide hand out the pamphlets to the kids, not realizing that they were a pro-choice group. Well, the school is in a Orthodox Jewish community, and the parents got the pamphlets and they got angry and called the RABBI and the rabbi came to her school and tried to get her fired.

Its a pagan tradition stolen by the christians, and then stolen by corporations, so they can milk the populous of its gold.

All the institutions support it because it bolsters profits and keeps the consumer driven western society from canabalising itself

if you want to give a gift to someone then why wait - give it to them today - you dont need permission from Christianity to give a gift to someone

          I can't believe when we play christmas music its offending, but then the very next period some Muslim girl starts to say a prayer infront of the whole calss.

          So when we sing its offending, but when she prays to Muhammad or whatever the hell, And i say it offends me, IM A RACIST!???!?!?!?

         I can't believe how people from other countries are trying to ruin the american way! First they try to take out god in the Pedge, and now this?! If i went to Iran and went to a school there. And i said that it offended me, they wouldnt give a shit, if you come to a country you respect there ways of life, especially when they have had the same tradition for the last 300+ YEARS! I'm an atheist, so the religious thing doesn't really bother me, but I'm like...  people just need to stop fighting each other over religion.  For all they know, I could be right, and all of these people are fighting over some imaginary bullshit.

If I was a kid in school, I'd just enjoy something in the background to distract me from the boredom of classwork...  whether it's people singing about Christ or Allah or whoever...  just something to end the monotoneity.
