right lets take into accout the size of the patch call in 600mb
right your system wheat ever it is has to load 600mb into the system memory and then execute it
and to make shure it is there

It could be that the file was corrupted when you downloaded it... a file of that size, it wouldnt be unusual for some piece of data to be lost or changed somewhere. First try reinstalling it, if that doesnt help, try re-downloading the patch, maybe from a different source and try again.
