I've seen people talking about the game crashing to their desktop on "Join Game" or randomly when playing. Though I've experienced this a couple of times, it's not so often (yet) that it's a problem for me. My problem is that my game keeps "switching" to the desktop. That is, the game is still running, but the game minimizes itself and I get bumped to the desktop. Then I have to click the game tab on the taskbar to get it up again. This takes a LONG time, which isn't exactly something I have in the middle of a firefight
Anyone know what causes this, and how to fix it?

Thanks!

PS: I've had the same thing happen to me on an SI game as well.

It could be one of many things.... Does it happen at intervals or the same time every day?  Could be windows update if it is configured to automatically download updates, also instant message programs or email can cause the same thing - Just make sure that everything is off when your playing and you should be fine.

Do you have other programs running?

I know when I have songs going in WMP that the game will minimize quickly whenever I get a song change.

Or perhaps its another program?

Wrong, this is a local problem on his computer, a scheduled task or something that is causing the computer to switch priorities.

That's what I'm thinking as well.
I've turned off automatic updates for Windows. Don't have any msg or mail programs running. Turned off Norton "realtime" scan (or whatever it's called). Use ZoneAlarm firewall.

Guess I've gotta check all my programs to see if I've got "automatic update" checked on any of them.
