Dane Cook Overrated

I watched his show on HBO; Tourgasm, and his Vicious Cirlce stand up and have to say, this guy isn't even remotely funny. He has a great amount of energy onstage but has some regurgitated jokes and a bunch of yelling and screaming.

My friend bought his new cd and I listened to a bit of it. Once again, nothing remotely funny.

Am I missing something with this guy?

i laugh at some of his jokes, but hes so hyper its just pathetic rather than funny, the burgerking joke is allways funny

He reminds me of the guy in high school who thought he was funny just by being hyper. And the type who had to be the funniest guy in the room no matter what the cost.

One or two of his bits are funny but for the most part he's pretty annoying.

Kramer's bit of yelling the N word is funnier then anything Dane Cook has ever done. I tried to sit through his crappy act but once the Windex Jokes started flying I ran to the garage and hit myself in the head with a shovel....

Ewww that was pretty funny but what was up with the breast stroke that he was doing? It's like he's incorperating the magic of dance with OK Jokes(not great just OK jokes).

P.S. he's about as funny as Forbidden on myspace

Yeah, all of my buddies say "Dane Cook is the best!" I look at some of his "best" ones... Aparently the Burger King one... I havn't laughed yet by him.

His extreme popularity has brought on the crowd that has to be unique and say he sucks in order to feel unique and different. Take a look at the numbers he produces and you can see most people find him funny.

Being popular doesn't make him funny? I like being the same as people and I just can't get into it.. I really tried to sit through Vicious Circle by myself and just wasn't into his kind of bit. I like jokes.

I must say if he wasnt considered funny by a great many people he would not sell out everywhere he goes or be selling millions of cd's all over the world. Would you go to see a suck ass comedian or buy his cd's?

In any sense I am sure he cares little about captfass1 's opinion in a forum and more about her's. (no offense)

No offense taken, I know but I'm just voicing my opion and like I said before I really tried to give him a chance cause he is so popular but IMO he just wasn't funny.

And also that Forbidden girl and Tila on myspace are two talentless hacks who have extreme popularity and Pseudo Fame for nothing.. So it's the new trend that I've seen is you can now get famous for being mediocre at something.

Maybe everyone is buying his CD's to see what the popularity is about?

I don't think he's funny, I never have. It has nothing to do with "being too cool, to be cool." Allthough I do respect the fact that he tries to make his fans feel special.

As for that chick, I'm guessing she is the typical "I look better on Myspace than I do in real life."

She's not dog ugly, but I'm sure Dane Cook is baggin' way better ass than that.

I got you, but with the internet it's easier to get popularity and then you can get people to come to your show..

It's like having a million friends and sending out a bulliten with a million friends at least 10k or so will try to give you a chance.
