CPU-z should do it. There is...

Oops, I mean

CPU-Z should do it. There is a mainboard tab that can give you motherboard details.

well it will run on your system fine(the 8800GTX/GTS) as long as u have a pig power supply i would recomnd a 500+W PSU for any of the 8800Family if u have lots of stuff in yer pc then get a bigger PSU then 500W. I have a 1000W power supply i plan on running my 8800GTX in SLI in the future so u nned 100 watts

Wouldn't it run better with 2 gb in duel channel rather then 2.5?

What exactly is that processor, dont tell me its a p4!!!???  Should work but with the best GPU in the world then you need atleast a medium CPU imho.

make sure theres enough amps on the 12v rails, other wise it wont work. Consult the manufacturers websites for the ratings, and what the card requires.

It will be a bottleneck for the G80. The CPU cannot keep up with the card. My suggestion

Buy a completly new PC

With:

Core 2 duo CPU
Nvidia 680i Chipset
600watt psu
2GB G.Skill ram ddr2 800
8800 series

that's about it.

You can use the Pentium 4, it's just that with that old processor and the new graphics card won't live up to its full potential.

I would get at least 500 W of power especially for that card and any other upgrades u might have in the future.  If you can spend the money on that card, you can spend a few more bucks on a better supply.  As long as the power supply has a 4 pin connector and a regular connector to the MB you should be all set. When you take your current power supply out, you will see what I mean.

if i got i Geforce 8800 GTX, would it be bottlenecked alot with my AMD Athlon 64 3500+ at 2.2 GHz?

not as badly as with the p4, yours is a 64 bit chip, his is a 32.  A high end dual core would be preferable.

Not really. But oc it a bit and you get better performance.
