Hes good but he lacks in planes and helis and you cant be the best player without them.
You have to learn the rules of the game and then you have to play better than anyone else.

To be perfectly honest it's much better to be a master of one then a jack of all (especially in a powerful vehicle like an aircraft). Don't get me wrong because I think flexibility is certainly a huge boon to a players overall impact on the game. But again this thread is the "best BF2 player" and when it comes to defining a "best BF2 player" being good in just an aircraft is simply not enough. They've got to have skill in all aspects of Battlefield 2 and I was saying before the only player I've ever encountered who meets those specifications is BushViper.
BTW Kmal: How bout a most 'rounded' or maybe even the best 'team player'?

as for me well i may play karkand too much(well did hardly play bf2 anymore) i play it my own way not the grenade spamming mess that everyone knows. i used to play unranked and go on the right servers and you'll find some of the best infantry fights on karkand.
personally i will vote for bushviper as ive played with him and although he may not remember with me, him and babyspinch the round was ours.
TOP deserve a mension although we may not see eye-to-eye( got banned from their wake server for tk'ing yeah right i didnt teamkill anyone) they are damn good players

27.84 KDR in armour (!), SPM of nearly 6 (that's with a third of his time in armour, most of the rest on foot), KDR of 3.15 with the ARs, 2.24 with LMGs, flag points per minute 0.27, 21,000+ team points, 55,000+ combat points.
As I said above, makes the stats of some of the good players here (including second accounts) look less than stellar. And this kind of level has been maintained for 340+ hours... unlike some paltry 40-hour medic fest on favourite Karkand servers, like some people are fond of pimping.
