I have always used "f", and never even thought of using another way. So how do you and why, what do you think is the best way? I'm just curious to see, perhaps the better players all use the same way, so please share!

i use number keys
I use the number keys. Used the mouse in GRAW, which I prefered there, but when playing medic or support, it's easier to hit the number than to scroll down sometimes.
I use my mouse for button nr. 3, 5 and 6 and pull the pistol with F. For knife and grenades i use number keys.
It`s pretty handy to change between single shot/burst, medpac and paddles without moving my left hand from the wasd keys

I use the number keys mostly. I reset the F key to be the parachute as I got tired of falling to my doom before I got to the 9 button. I didn't cycle weapons anyway. I have the pistol as the wheel button. I call it the finisher.
I got F as parachute too.....
E and R for rifle and nades, then the numbers for the rest of them, only I switched up the order to make it easier to get what I want...

I have my rifle, pistol, knife and shock paddles set to different keys that are closer and easier to hit fast.

Mouse Wheel, seriously how can you not use the mouse wheel? Is it because my controls are completly different to the default?
Although thinking about it I should be able to mess around with SetPoint (G5 software) and get the scroll up/down options to have only 1 value.
IE Scroll down = medpack etc
Scroll up = pistol
We'll see

I use the mouse wheel. So I can keep moving/aiming as I swap to kinfe, pistol, etc.
Depends on the situation for me. When I play medic and I want my paddles, then numbers. Anything else - out of habit - mousewheel.
Well, I mainly use my Rifle and shockpaddles. So I set the two side buttons on my mouse for 3 & 6

X - 5th slot
C - 6th slot
