I just turned on my comp, accidentally hit delete, and I go into the BIOS. So i'm thinking to myself that I might as well look at it while i'm there since I can actually understand that stuff now. While I was in there, I saw something about a primary video bus or something like that. It was set to PCI, my video card is an AGP card. I hit enter of course to see what my options are: PCI and AGP. So i'm wondering now, would it be O.K. to switch it to AGP and what benefits would it give me if so?
Oh my god, it is absolutely phenominal. I can see things I never saw before. The textures look SO much better. Shadows finally render like they're supposed, this is insane.
Anyone who hasn't done this in their BIOS, I recommend you do it.
yea i did that on my old comp it looks pritty sweet!!! What does PCI-E or AGP card apitchure size men its in my bios on both of my comps. both are set 2 256M IDK what 256M means. but could i set it to +512M since my 8800GTX is a 768mb card
Yeah, you should do that. I think it means you weren't utilizing all of the RAM aperture on your video card, only 256MB of it. Btw, does this trick work for PCI-e cards too?

I can't see that over the internet, I thought you were one of those punk-asses that always try to look cool by making fun of someone that's pointing out something that everyone knows about PCs that I didn't. My bad. Anyway, did you try this yet? I would have never thought a 9600 could look so good.King_County_Downy wrote:

I suppose, you've always been the first helpful one on every one of my retarded threads.King_County_Downy wrote:

Do you think it will work with PCI-e too?
I don't think it would make any difference one way or another if you change PCI-E since you're not using it.

I'm talking about for someone that has PCI-e, my BIOS don't even have a PCI-e option. Do you think this trick will work for PCI-e or do you think it's already enabled on PCI-e based BIOS? Example: it says PCI-e already, rather than PCI in the main video bus. (I am so bad at clarifying, lol)King_County_Downy wrote:

Sorry I couldn't explain it better. Unless you somehow did understand it, lol. Maybe you could try this on your computer at work, lol. If it uses a real video card.King_County_Downy wrote:

I think you're asking if the PCI-E motherboard would have an aperture size configuration page in the BIOS?

I tried that with mine but i got only got 2 settings: (btw i have pci-e)
AGP VGA
PCI-E VGA
I get these because i have AGP express and PCI-e on my mobo but i didnt see anything about the apiture size
how the hell do you spell apiture?
EDIT: I didnt notice before but i live 30 mins from you downy i live in snohomish

The correct spelling is aperture. Which card do you use? If it's the PCI-e one, set it to PCI-e and vice versa.spud924 wrote:
