Nope, there is nothing wrong with it. It's not like they are raping or murdering children in the video. You people are overreacting. There are much better examples on the internet where you could complain about US soldiers, but this is harmless. This thread is beyond the boundaries of stupidity.Dec45 wrote:

The video was an example and there is a discussion going on this thread. If you can't contribute, don't post...usmarine2007 wrote:

I don't see how this behavior is exclusive to Americans, for one thing. For another thing, those kids weren't dying of thirst. I don't know if you noticed, but there's a grip of water lying in the streets from public water systems. The soldiers and kids were playing around with each other, and in the end he gave them the water. For fuck's sake people, come on.
please tell me whats wrong with US Soldiers.

Pussy appeasement assholes.
And I am pointing out that the video is a poor example and that you people are overreacting. Disagreeing with someone's opinion in a debate is still contributing. Once again, there are much better examples of what you guys are whining about. This video really does fail to make the thread title meaningful since it is so harmless. I was expecting to see an article about US soldiers raping and murdering someone, not teasing children. If you think that is so bad, what do you think of the child labor and child executions that are common to that region?Gawwad wrote:

That'll give 'em something to think about.

Where are you from, is this how they raised you?
Where do you get off making such a bold assumption? If I found you, I'd knife your face in.
Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you....

But yeah, that one kid can run amazingly fast....

But if you really think about it, it didn't really do the kid much harm. Wasn't painful. When i opened that, I expected to see them open fire right in front of the kid, but not hit him, while he was chasing the water bottle or something disgusting along those lines.
Don't flame me though, just saying its not as bad you guys make it sound.
He is wrong, but the knife in the face is a bit extreme. Maybe just a kick to the balls?224th R0ck3tpack wrote:

I don't quite understand what the overreaction is either. It's just a couple of bored-out-of-their-mind, immature soldies being assholes. Big deal. So its a bunch of kids? So fucking what. If you gave ten of those kids one gun each, three out of the ten would probably open fire on the nearest soldier.
US troops are over there NOT doing what they're trained for. Our military is NOT a police force, nor are they trained to be a police force. Soldiers are trained to kill, period. I know a couple buddies of mine in Iraq that told me troops were getting sensitivity training, and other bullshit classes so they'll be able to "police" the cities in a legal, non-confrontational way. What the fuck is that about? We liberated a region of a ruthless dictator that was threatening towards the free world. Great, now lets leave. We have to stop trying to Americanize every fucking country because it's simply not going to work. The people of this region and their culture will never change... we cannot ever expect to reverse thousands of years of culture by flexing our military muscles overnight.
I support our troops 100% as should every American citizen. They took an oath to defend our country and MY life with their own, so you can't judge hundreds of thousands of troops based on the actions of a select few. You take a few hundred thousand people and you're going to have a quite a few bad apples in there somewhere.

And during the North African campaign in WWII, the Germans and Brits held a "Gentleman's War," to a certain degree.<<<FTDM>>>Gen.Raven wrote:

I do not support US politics in Iraq , but this story made me sad . RIP Chris Walsh .
What part about this "Gentleman's War" included the deaths of millions of Jewish peoples?
I meant between the generals of the Brits and Germans who were in North Africa, not the overall war.BeerzGod wrote:

Oh, and here's silly old me thinking that people with guns, tanks, and aircraft could maybe make an effort to, y'know, prevent the traffick of arms. Crazy, crazy me though. Everyone knows that the US Army is actually just a wartime postal service. Bunny rabbits fight wars for the US, and they are utterly incapable of dealing with resistance.
But yes in accordance to the video, its the actions of those few that give the rest of the US troops a bad name and should be dealt with accordingly. But, the vid shows no faces, or says no names, if they dont have integrity, which it looks like they DO NOT. Then this vid will be passed off, JAG will have nothing, and their commanders will never know their Soldiers (I use that term very loosely), had anything to do with it.
The question I have: every time there's something bad about US soldiers, people go on about how it's the few. Every time there's something good, it becomes generalised to be representative of the whole army. Why the double standard?
