I had an original Nintendo when I was a kid as Im sure most.....some of you did.  Recently I was in the market for a Sega Genesis which I also had when I was roughly 7 or so.  My g/f bought me the Sega for about $35-$40 USD on eBay.  Well, I decided to find an original Nintendo.

I found one, bid on it, and won it for $34.

I saw one that was upwards of around $80

I guess my question is, how much would you pay for a system of that age?

$34 sounded reasonable to me, and I wouldnt have gone over $40, it is missing the RF modulator, but I can pick one of those up at Wal-Mart.

I still got my sega, it's sitting about 30 feet away from me, STILL WORKS. Me and my little bro play sonic the hedgehog all the time. Priceless system, though I could see myself spending up to $60 to get another if I had the chance.

Is that an emulator for the PC?  If so, thats why I didnt go that route....I wanted the actual system.

Jbrar, Genesis owns.  It is a classic, as is Sonic lol.  I have a Sonic collection for XBox because I never really thought I would own a Genesis again.  When my g/f ordered it the guy sent me a group of about 6 games, NBA Jam being one and Sonic 1 I believe.

Just the other day I found NHL 95 All Star Hockey at a used media store.  Now Im hoping to find NHL 94 somewhere lol.

i had a mega drive (genesis) at my grandparents house (it was demoted when i got my psone). but its seems to be lost when they moved. sucks, cus it was working perfectly. i had sonic 1 and 2, and even mortal kombat 1 i had from 93 was still working.

i'd pay $120 for a perfect condition system with mario 1 and 3. if its abit worn maybe $40.

This one is supposedly in pretty good shape.  The lady was selling 3 of them, all of which are missing the RF modulator.  Hopefully it works, when I get it Ill check it out.

Im kind of anxious to get it lol.

NBA Jam was the shit. "Heeeeeeee's on fire!"

I'd probably spend about 35 on an NES system. It's a great system and some of the games are truly classic, but who the fuck wants to give their videogames a blowjob to get it to work? I still remember getting my Nintendo. One of my first games was Rush'N Attack. It was a pretty good game.

Blades of Steel was too awesome. I don't even like hockey but I loved that game.

I still have my origional from a 1980 something Christmas. Over 100 games also. Its sitting boxed up in storage. I break it out for nostalgia sometimes.  The hardware is pretty dodgy on any of the NES systems so I sure as hell wouldn't pay 80 for it. You can find them at yardsales or flea markets for under 5 bucks usually.

I have a Sega Master System and 30 games or so in a box somewhere, which worked whenever the last time it was hooked up was.
My Genesis is around somewhere in a box too, hmmm....I have the 32x attachment which came with some 'mega drive' type cartridge then went on the side of the system and made it run faster.  I forget how many games I have for it.
Good thread, I gotta go dig out my segas...

edit:  grammar good is

In Norway that would cost you ~500 kroner (1USD = 6.3 NOK)

I say you got a good buy!

How much would i buy one for?  Nothing as I was lucky enough to have had  snes and a megadrive given to me recently - and with NHL 94!! Also with Super Off Road, and still one of my fave games of all time Sensible Soccer.  Lucky me eh?
