I am suprised that someone actually voted yes and i do hope whoever did vote that was'nt being serious cause the terrorists could just as easy get a white person to pull the attack as there are many who do beleive in their cause but arent arabic looking. Take David Hicks for example, also using ethnic/religious profiling is highly racial and possibly borders on fascistic like the Nazi's in WW2 where you were perfect if you had Blonde Hair and Blue eyes and had to be killed if you were a Jew. Id say go for it if you want even more people to hate the country you reside in.
profiling is a legitimate tool, odd how no one complains when 99% of all serial killers are initially profiled as being 30-something white dudes. if a black person gets "lynched" no one complains when cops look for white people. if you're looking for a fanatic of a religion that teaches white people are the devil then you may want to start looking for non-white religious fanatics. isreal air uses profiling without a second thought and have never had a terrorist event, seems to me like they would be the biggest target on the hit list.

I voted no. Why? I'm from Northern Ireland and because 0.01% of the population is involved in Terrorism, N.I is still on many countries (my experience was USA) list as a source of terrorists. Even though our fighting is internal within our own country. I have seen first hand how offensive this is.
I was stopped on a trip to the USA at Dublin Airport and 'detained' by American customs because I fitted some kind of profile. Ie: Male, Catholic, from Northern Ireland. The guys who questioned me was down right rude and personal. Because I was only carrying $500 cash they tried to insinuate I was up to something. I produced my own personal visa, that was no good because it might be at it's limit. Luckily at the time I was carrying the company I worked for at the time's unlimited Business expense Gold American Express Card and thats what let me though after 30min's of questioning. Only for the 'unlimited' bit I would have missed my flight and lost the cost of the flight etc. I wouldn't have minded if the line of questioning had been, "you have $500 how are you going to support yourself for 2 weeks bla bla" but it wasn't. It was more "who are you meeting to get money from when you get there, what are you doing for that money?"
Maybe the airports should screen white southerners because they may be in the KKK??

Profiling is a filter and should be regarded as such...it does not say ....just pick on ...A B or C it looks at what the current threats are and applies pointers for us to look for which the makes finding the needle in the haystack a little easier....

Profiling is fine to a point. Searching my 68 year old grandmother because she just happened to be the next in line, is gay. What's the point of pulling 80+ year old people out of line and making them remove their shoes and stuff? Probably so the bastards don't get sued.
well put joker, if you profile you're not saying "that dark skinned person is guilty", you're just using a method to determine where to more efficiently allocate your resources.

I voted no. My reason is that a dumbfuck can be of any race, ethnicity or skin color. And mainly men, dunno of any women being killers and shit.
Being Politically Correct does not change a persons view on a certain race or ethnicities. It just hides it so you don't know how people really feel.

Who's saying profiling is all we should do? I don't think we should only search people that are middle-eastern looking. I just think it makes sense to pay more attention to them than rich white, black, or latino businessmen. Search everyone, but pay the most attention to the people that are statistically more likely to be security threats. Those people are fanatic muslims, that's all there is to it. Hijacking planes has been a jihadi tactic for 30 years.
