I would like to counterargue:

Had the Dutch not colonized South Africa and bled the colony dry, the cutting edge tech South African combat helicopter would have been developed earlier.

Or would you care to elaborate why the Dutch influence was necessary to develop the Rooivalk? I hope you're not saying that a combat helicopter called 'Mubanga' is an impossibility...

2. the first mass produced car that wasn't just a toy was the ford TT model and was invented by an american named ford. mass producing cars was properly the biggest contribution to the cars manufactors ever made and it was what really boosted the number off cars in the world.
3. microsoft launched windows the program that made the computer usefull for normal people.
4. so yes america has made a great contribution to cars and computers.
