Not enough info really. Try updating graphics card drivers, main board drivers, Direct X, reinstalling 2142 and re-patching it. Use the manual punkbuster update (SEE HERE)

I'd suggest playing another fairly new game and see if you also experience instability there. Could be insufficient cooling. Also make sure you've got all the latest drivers for all your hardware, and make sure you have a reliable power supply. It's possible that as the game progresses your PSU isn't able to handle the load...although that's not likely. It could also just be the way the game interacts with your system, i.e. poorly.
