Don't forget the "If people are in the road while I'm going somewhere, I'll run their asses down"
And of course "if you don't like it here, don't let the door hit you on the way out."
Its more likely to lead to the collapse of US power in the Asia-Pacific region.
Whats Trump going to do when the Chinese send in troops and start mowing people down?
Nothing.
Then they'll take Taiwan, then the rest of the region.

So I got called a Chinese shill for pointing out that the CCP probably deserves the loyalty a lot of Chinese citizens have for it. I am almost 30 years old and the U.S. has been in decline my entire life. We are at a very low point right now in fact. I have never seen good times in the U.S. But we still have a lot of "USA #1" types running around anyway.
If I was born in China in 1990 I would have witnessed the GDP per capita balloon from $320 to $12,000 in 2018. Instead we have oh just too many damn economic and political problems to list. So when a Chinese person says they want nothing to do with the west or our values, I get it.

Ha ha you'd love living in China.

you need a beginner class in primitive accumulation. ballooning GDP is not an end in itself when people become wage slaves.
People in America are also wage slaves.
yes, wage slaves with civil liberties. i’ll take democratic capitalism over state capitalism.
Have our civil liberties served us well in recent times at all? Voting lead to Bush, Trump, and Brexit. Our freedom of speech is mostly used to yell at each other and divide ourselves politically, socially, and culturally. The 2nd amendment turned killing sprees into a national past time. And even then our civil liberties are curtailed arbitrarily all the time anyway.
enjoy china, macbeth. you are very much complaining about first world problems. i hear their social security credit rating system is a riot. try getting into an argument with someone about politics! watch the results! ??? profit !!!
The economic problems in the U.S. aren't first world problems. Neither are the mass killings. The mass killings are Iraq in 2006 problems.
In American politics whether or not poor people should receive healthcare and food assistance is still not a settled issue. We still have abnormally high rates of hunger, homelessness, and violence compared to even your country.
The Chinese at least agree that they are a singular nation. They are all in it together. In America it's every person for themselves.

Yes, you don't have to worry about mass killings, you do have to worry about being arrested on bogus charges and being killed so a politician can have another liver.
In China its every politician for themselves, everyone else is there to serve.

yeah, okay. the chinese agree they are all a singular nation. except for hong kong. and taiwan. and macau. and the entire non-han provinces in the west, notably where the uighur repression is ongoing.SuperJail Warden wrote:

what the fuck are you talking about?
less than half of Americans hold a valid passport, so you can assume that a good chunk of Americans form their opinions on international politics and culture by reading USA Today or watching r/wtf videos.
I go to China, Hong Kong and Taiwan multiple times a year. Hong Kong is a dystopia. China is polluted and crowded and miserable and also incredibly metropolitan in the larger cities (go figure). Taiwan is the most westernized, but also basically a fiefdom, albeit a somewhat socially progressive one.

I have a subscription to the New York Times. I am well informed.
Have you ever traveled outside New York though?

the fact is that the ‘singular nation’ you coo over like a fawning parent is achieved through state force and coercion, and a huge curtailment of citizens’ group and collective self-determination. any ethnic or religious (or even economic and legal in the case of hong kong) faction outside of the han-ccp mainstream is surveilled, repressed, and made to suffer at the hands of an invasive state apparatus. their phones are full of ‘do everything’ apps run by the state, keeping an overt tab on them. everything they do is watched over, if not by a political class then by overly zealous compatriots. ‘singular nation’, smh.
debate, disagreement, argument, even violent protest and out and out civil unrest is part of democratic process. it’s part of working out the knots in a diverse and heterogeneous body politic, not some irreversible decline narrative. no doubt america has a massive issue with public shootings, but these are problems for your society to solve on the collective level, through law making or mental health provision or whatever. it’s a different matter from an army tank rolling over the bones of protestors in a public square, just because you disagree with the state. get a grip.

Thankfully the US is far from the level of authoritarianism China flexes over its citizenry. But at the same time, I don't think the US should be allowed to slip out from under cautious watch. Not intending to embellish police state worries beyond probable concern, but there have been some off-handed comments from the administration and outright oppressive sentiment from political extremes that I'd rather not see come to pass in coming years.
Really? Already looks like a third-world military dictatorship where the Police can kill citizens with impunity.

So you think the US is already at Chinese-level abuse of power, can't get worse, and doesn't need to be monitored? Or what?
It can get worse, it needs to be reversed, not monitored.
Fuck Israel
Whats interesting about these videos is how angry the average person is getting and how they're not taking shit from authority any more

Keeping a critical light on abuses made by authority figures is a means to pressure the government into policy changes.
The US doesn't look like a third world military dictatorship. If it did, the videos you posted after your out-of-context gallery would have often ended in summary execution of the objectors and their families.

the US is as authoritarian as china because of the police. hot take.
Without constant effort the US would become a Police state.
Interesting that the most useful tool is a video camera.
