got mine working. after reinstalling bf2 twice.
first uninstall bf2.
then reinstall.
then wthout any update unstall bf2:sf
then install new patch found on net for bf2.
then everything should work fine .
i would say u need about 7 gb free, where u are goin to install.

Hi there all. The solution to the problem, according to EA Sweden is to do the following things:
Change your My Documents folder to the path C:
This instead of c:\documents and settings\username\ and so on
The esiest way to do this is to right click on the My Documents icon on the Desktop and choose Properties. Then the new patch will install and this goes for BF2:SF aswell.
When installed, just change the folder back to the original setting.
Hopefully this will help someone
