My life's dream is now a reality. Wait 2 years and we can grab the executive branch as well.
None of them are really going to do anything good. Career politicians who are interested in self-perpetuation don't interest me. Although I'd rather have a Democrat career politician than a Republican one.

That article didn't mention if Allen formally conceded and so far neither has Conrad Burns.
Burns has conceded. Allen has not.
This puts the Senate at 49 Republicans, 2 Independents, and 48 Democrats. So, if Webb gets Virginia, the Democrats will only have an equal number of seats in the Senate to the Republicans.
Currently, Webb has only a razor-thin victory over Allen, so that's why they're going to do a recount. We won't know who actually has won this seat until Nov. 27.
As I mentioned in another thread, I'm wondering how a Senate functions without a clear majority (49 Rep, 49 Dem, 2 Ind). I guess Dick Cheney is the tiebreaker?
