Holy hell!!  Watching Bush right now, he's got this fear-laden type of honesty as he stutters along...  He's not getting pissed at the questions...he's admitting mistakes sort of, he's now modifying his stay the course BS.. wow...

For the first time in about 5 years, I'm starting to feel the depression leave me from the political change up going on!  This is like an epiphany or something! lol  I'm about to start giggling madly in my office now!

** Suzanne Malvaux just asked Bush "Nancy Pelosi has called you incompetent, dangerous, an emporer with no clothes..etc [paraphrased]...how do you expect to work with her after her comments?"  Bush of course, stutters and pretends he's interested in working 'with' Pelosi further.

wow, this is amazing.
I'm with you on that one. He sounds like a different man. Maybe because he doesn't have to live in Cheney's state of denial anymore.

His joke about Karl Rove actually made me laugh out loud. That was funny.

Hooray he is finally gone!!!

And so ends the evil reign of Darth Rumsfeld. Now once we defeat Lord Cheney balance will be brought back to the Force United States Government.

gg dems.
What is the Democrats plan?
Watch and see.  And when I mean "watch and see" that doesn't mean watch O'Reilly or Hannity.  It means tune into C-SPAN when they show congress in session..or go to pertinent official sites to see actual votes taking place.  They just got in power and they now have the privilege of discussing..something even republicans couldn't do before since they were Bush's bitches.
You mean the Democrats got elected into congress without detailing their plan?

They got elected into power because voters were sick of corruption and inaction from the previous congress...or so say the polls.  Were the democrats supposed to have a plan before getting elected?  If so, you better go tell them the forgot the plan!  lol

here is an observation for those that wonder why you liberals are looked at as terrorists supporters:

You all are showing more excitement and enthusiasm than you ever showed at the capture of Saddam, and the killing of Uday and Qusay, and the killing of AL Zarquwai. Indeed during those events your mood was almost somber and full of criticism. That is why you are looked at,the way you are.

Those events didn't produce any noticeable change in the situation in Iraq. Howard Dean said as much about Saddam and was mocked relentlessly for it. Most on the left said the same about Zarqawi, Saddam's progeny, elections in Iraq, changing Iraqi leaders, and were eventually proven right. The violence has not abated thus far, largely because the same general policy was followed by the White House and Rumsfeld.

This might produce some positive change. Rumsfeld has been openly contemptuous of even the Republican controlled congress, has publically berated the senior officer corps of the military, has antagonized the career civilians in the DoD, has overseen the filling of organizations like the CPA with the worst sort of dilettante ideologues, has virtually shut out the State Department and other agencies usually involved with peacekeeping and nation-building, and has subverted the traditional intelligence process while alienating non-DoD (and often career DoD) members of the intelligence community.

Good fucking riddance.

Rumsfeld was an incompetent idiot, and so, I'm glad to see him leave.  While I believe Robert Gates will do a better job, I do have to wonder about his Iran-Contra connections....

10 seconds after the aformetioned events the posts were flying on here, in my very humble opinion, 10 seconds is hardly long enough to know or see what changes those events would bring.

Also, wit hall your excitement, using your theory, how do you know Rumsfelds departure will bring any change, none has been produced yet, after all.

I don't, but I also don't see how Gates could be much worse.

Call it the bigotry of low expectations.

this doesn't explain your lack of excitement about the other events, as you have with this one.

Considering how events transpired following those developments I wasn't all that hopeful given that there was no (nor was there going to be) any kind of policy change. And, as late as last week Rumsfeld was going to stay and, in Cheney's words, the adminstration was going to go "full speed ahead" with more of the same.

This at least represents some hope for a policy change and, as per what was posted above, Rumsfeld has, so far, been the worst of all possible worlds, unable to work with even sympathetic partners in government and (even worse) unable to change.

Saddam at this point is a non-entity and his life (what's left of it anyway) is of no great importance to current events in Iraq. I wish his death would automagically solve Iraq's problems, but at this juncture the ethnic divisions within the country are just too great and rendering him past-tense is not going to stem the blood letting in the interim. As with the other events (or corners turned, if you will...) I'm always happy to be proven wrong in my predictions.
