Man has a point!

Im sure it helped, but it was'nt the only factor in Europes recovery!

My school history books clearly state Ireland didnt receive any aid after WW2... The government must have taken the money and split it between them, damn politician's!

And the reason we were so poor (in the UK at least) and America had loads of money kicking around, because we spent all our money buying weapons and supplies off the Americans before they decided to get involved. They just gave some of it back at the end.

That's only partially true...  A lot of the reason had to do with the devastation of having the second World War being fought on your soil, rather than ours.  Also, the Gold Standard heavily favored our economy.
