Its real simple. Disable ALL virtual drives, make sure theyre not even there in "My Computer". Dont have anything mounted, shut down programs like Daemon, PowerISO and Alchohol120 down on the bottom right and check if its running in processses (Ctrl Alt Del). This worked for me, virtual drives and images interfere with the copyright.

I had this problem too... reboot helped me, but since I was messing around with Daemontools, that could've been the problem. Thnx
Simple, buy the game and those programs didn't bother me at all even if they where installed on my computer
just insert the fucking disk lol

The problem with this message is that the disk IS inserted.jkohlc wrote:

Hey all you smartasses, if the disc WAS IN... i googled it and no one found an answer so i fixed it myself.
i found that if you use daemontools, all you have to do is..
right click on the icon in the taskbar, go to emulation and disable safedisc.
I discovered this happend in bf2, so simple fix.

create a copy of your disk using alcohol 120% or similar... then mount it with daemon tools... that's what solved it 100% for me WITHOUT having to mess around with my virtual drives etc.
What i did was to turn daemon tools off and installing the latest safedisc update.
Use game jackal -
1 create mini image of game,
2 mount using daemon tools.
3 Put the game disc back in the box
4 enjoy even faster load times as you dont have to wait for the DVD drive.

I have virtual disk running all the time, and I do not have the disc error problem.
With battlefield 2142 you can still run a virtual drive and play the game, assuming you own a legit copy and have the real disc in the drive. If any of you have F.E.A.R., however, you can't even run a virtual drive in order to start the game. It's the security measure that Sierra uses on their games.
This message also happens for some people who downloaded the game. Happened to one of my clanmates.
