I dont know if any of you guys have heard it yet, but i just saw on the Television just a few minutes ago, that Saddam Hussein has been sentanced to death by Hanging in Bagdad just moments ago....

I expect at that point the insurgency will die down; I honestly think they thought that with enough carnage we would let saddam back.

For the most part its a mix. The native Rebels needed the help and the financing, hence in comes Al Qaeda to the rescue backed with Irans money. As to the OP, Yah i think the Insurgency will die down, The biggest reason they are fighting is because they think that if they do enough damage, we would have let saddam go, and put him back in power(yes they think that simple) But after this verdict, they surely must be bumming. We will just have to wait and see.
