ok, I recentley decided that I want to upgrade my monitor. I now have a flat screen dell 17" lcd monitor, but today at work, I saw a 26" lcd tv/monitor. I think it would be great to play bf2 and also just browse the web, so I dont have to squint constantly. Let me know what your setup is, it would be much appreciated. Also, what would be a good video card to run in a dell.

- My size and kind of monitor do you have?
19" Viewsonic VP930B, it's awesome.
I have a 21 incher (actually I have 9 inches, LOL). Good card...maybe a 7800 if you like nvidia, I run a X850XL on high settings w/o any probs.
edit: depends on the rest of your setup too, no point getting a "fast card" if you have a slow CPU.

btw, i ment to say what size up in the title. 19" is a little small. i have a 17" right now and i think its way too small. a buddy of mine has a 19", its nice but still a little small
Dell 2005FPW 20.1" Widescreen
I have a 19" Dell, and an ATI Radeon X800 Pro, I can run everything on high just fine...
Panasonic C2192P. 21 inch GLASS with a .26MM dot pitch driven by an Nvidia GEForce 6800 with 256 MB RAM on a system using an Athlon64 3200 Barton CPU with 2 GB RAM. The only way to go to see FAR into the fog of war, plasma and LCD is good but GLASS is the best today. Tomorrow may be the death of the CRTs but today its the best on the market.
well, as far as the video card goes. i just upgraded from 256mg of memory to 768mb. def. runs a lot faster and smoother. what should i be looking on spending fro a video card. also, are they all compatible? thanks in advance
I use an ATI X850, and all of the cards mentioned in earlier posts should be compatible. The only thing I can think of that they might not be compatible with is an Apple (?)1tdiestoday wrote:

I have a Philips 19" 190S. Great monitor.
i played bf2 on my dads 61 inch high definition tv...that was fun lol
I've got a Dell 24" Widescreen LCD powered by a 7800GTX and Athlon 64 X2 3800+
It's breathtakingly awesome. Bear in mind tho that this monitor, and the 21 incher, I believe, are both 16ms, (60 htz) so when chasing after bunnyhoppers at close range, for example, there's a little lag on the picture.
But I've found that 16ms is fine for 95% of FPS playing, and in this case, if someone asks why I put up with that 5 per cent of the time where my monitor refresh is just a little too slow, I look at their podunk 19 incher, and then and at my monitor (running HL2 at 1900 x 1200, for example), and smirk.
The only problem is of course the price tag.

I have a Sharp HD Projector which I use now and then to play BF2 in 120in glory. Just imagine it, 7.1 surround sound, huge ass screen, comfortable couches. When I try to be normal, I just play it on my laptop with a 6800go. It's a 17in screen, 1920x1200 res. Only way to go quite frankly.
Got a 22" Mitsubishi Diamondtron on a 9800XT and a 19" BenQ FP937s+ 8ms on 6800Ultra SLI. Thinking about swapping the monitors as the LCD natively only supports 1280x1024 and the SLI combo can handle way more than that.

19 inch Dell Flat CRT, ATI X800 XT Platinum Ed. @1024x768
Works fine for me, but as far as displays are concerned, bigger is always better.
Card could surely handle more.
Nevertheless, I have more important things to buy than a new display atm, so I will be stuck with that 19 incher for a while.
I'd love to have a 21 inch TFT though BenQ, around 8 ms if possible....

Yay for me and my pathetic under-minimum-requirement computer!
btw, is the lag in LCDs noticable from a CRT?
32 inch widescreen lcd tv, 1366 x 768. Works like butter on bread.
To set custom resolution, edit your shortcut to battlefield and set custom numbers after +szx and +szy
example: +szx 1280 +szy 1024
it actually works in widescreen, and is not stretched.

The question to all of you is: Do you think that a larger monitor will help you aim better, also what is the largest monitor with the smallest refresh rate, what about those LCD gaming monitors?
19" Viewsonic VP912B
19" viewsonic 9xxb, 8ms response...i love it but need bigger, haha
