I've been playing around with these today. Would it cause more lag if i changed it to 70hz instead of 60hz? What are the ideal settings for smooth gameplay but still a little quality in graphics.

what we need to know is CPU, RAM speed and amount ,chip set, etc etc post your hole rig specs .....that said a 6800 gs isnt the best card any ways ;p
what rez your trying to run at 800x600 etc ,Hz isnt goign to matter mutch defailt i beleave is 60-70 set by windows
but post your specs and we will see if we can help you out

I dont get lag, im just wondering how far i can push this card as i already play most high settings with the odd medium.
would a change in hertz make any difference? I only noticed today that it runs at 60hz lol

quick look at your spec there tell me your rig isnt "leet" bf2/2142 runs easy at 1.5 gig of ram so 1 gig is choking it ..do you get shudder some times in game long long loadup times .....thats the rig reading from the drive and not the ram coz the rams to small
3000XP A socket 400Hz ...omg didnt know any one still had one of them ;p PC3200 ram speed ? but im thinging your running a NV2 chip set ? .....or did you mean to say 3000 64bit AMD 939 socket ?
you can get matching sets of mother boards/ram/CPUs pritty cheep atm the "last" of the 939 stuff is allmost being given away (still looking at 200 ish ..) but i think your on a old AGP vid card in witch case you could still find a 939 set up with a AGP slot on it but its goign to be hard work finding one

I dont need a l33t gaming rig. Why buy a ferrari sports car just to drive to the local store. This machine does what i want it to. Im not a big gamer, bf2 is the only game i play. It plays it fine. Everything runs fine on it.

Depends on what monitor you have.. You can hardly go to 70Hz if your monitor only goes up to 65Hz, yeah? ..
i duno how similar they are but i had a 6800 GT and i could run 1600 x 1200 with all high and 4x AA, but cuz i have an LCD i could only run at 60 Hz
Those are some nice settings. Pity you could only run it at 60Hz, although I doubt you'd be getting more FPS than that.
monitor goes up to 75hz
if its a flat panel it wont make the slightest difference, if its a CRT it might make a very small difference
