This guy is married with 5 children, and he's a pastor for 14000 people. Such an hypocrite can't teach "the word of God". I'm not a religious guy, but I think a lot of people is now very upset.

I'd be more inclined towards the argument that he's an immoral hypocrite, who does not live by the values he promotes. He lies, pays for sordid gay sex and takes hard drugs. Not exactly the sort of person you want trying to instill moral values in your children.

I reckon there's several thousand followers of his feeling betrayed and horrified right now. I have no problem with openly gay priests, that's fine by me. But to condemn homosexuality whilst paying for butt sex is just wrong.

Would you want a lying, whoring, meth smoking priest around your kids? I certainly wouldn't. That's totally aside from the gayness, the only part of which bothers me is his hypocrisy.

In a way, I can see what you mean. On the one hand, I actually believe prostitution should be legalized and regulated (since porn is legal), but on the other hand, I think parents would understandably want to know if their pastor indulges in prostitution.

I don't see it as a gay thing, personally. I'm more concerned about the prostitution part.

Totally... Forbidding priests from marrying is basically asking for trouble. It's not natural to expect someone to remain chaste for the rest of his/her life. That's unrealistic and unhealthy. Sex is definitely an urge that must eventually be satisfied -- between two willing adults of course....

Yes, priests should marry. It will not solve child molestation, though, just as marriage didn't prevent this situation. We all still have free will and can choose whether or not to adhere to our values and keep our promises to our spouses.
