As some know, Ive posted some pics from a website in that other thread that shows screenshots and pics before bf2 was released. While it was still in testing. And the interesting things were that maps were totally different looking, there were a few new toys , and some maps have features that they dont now. So, enjoy the pics. Im making a new thread with the same pics for better reference, etc. More pics to come as well.
First off, the vanilla section:
The bigger, original Mashtuur.
Different Menus:
Command Menu: 8 Manned squads too
Different BFHQ and bf2 menu:
Karkand totally different in terms of colors etc.
Notice the fenced in area on the left is a lot longer too
Helos too
Mashtuur again, bigger version looking totally different:

Another different comm screen:
Dragon Valley looking a lot different:
Oman, looking different and quite shitty with low graphics.
Kubra, looking different:
Notice the area where the MEC airfield is in the current version:
Ok, bf2 defineitely needs these tank shot smoke effects:
Notice the m82 Icon for sniper unlock and simrad icon for specops
Now, a nice toy I found in the renders section that I think would absolutely be so fun to use on maps such as Wake.

Now the SF Section: First off, the goodies that werent included in SF. First off, to let you understand why these were originally in Sf, SF was originally designed so that players could swim underwater, now, the pics.
Just a little interesting find, the G36E w/o the front handle.

Mashtuur. Look at the minimap and notice the MEC flag icons, and, anybody else see a full river?
Look at the Lav-25 on Zatar, notice the guy in it. Different positions me thinks.
