You know, to be devil's advocate here a little...
I'm seeing alot of people describe the berg beheading video (if it was correctly attributed to be the actual decapitation death he suffered) gruesome, the killers being monsters, and the like.
But then I started thinking of nameless "detainees" who've suffered much more abuse, greater pain threshold over a longer period of time, and possibly greater mental or psychological suffering...under the hands of US service men and women. I'm guessing the al quaeda killings are more hated because they're the enemy, and he was killing an american who foolishly volunteered to go to Iraq.
But think for a minute if your brother was snagged from your home after an ulawful entry by force and you didn't hear from him for 2 years, then suddenly a box is dropped off at your door with the remains of your brother..or worse, a letter sent saying your brother is dead [blah blah blah, lie, lie, lie] and his remains have been left at a morque. Surely you'd attribute the same epithets you do for the nick berg killers to the us service men/women who did likewise to your brother.
And guess what? Our forces are committing such attrocities. I've read of at least 4 such prisoner deaths that were labelled as beating deaths. I'm sure it's safe to say that 4 is a small representative number of what's really happening.
