Hi I've been having a small problem lately. When I bought 2142 it ran perfectly with medium settings and now suddenly I only get 15-30fps even on low (Weird part is I get the same fps even if I put everything at max). I've tried to reinstall and formatted yesterday, but still same problem. I also checked my ram last night with memtest and it didn't find any errors.

So anybody have suggestions what could be the problem?

SPECS:
Processor: http://img90.imageshack.us/img90/6412/prossugg8.png
RAM: 1,5GB DDR2 533MHz (2x256MB + 2x512MB)
GPU: XFX 7600GT 256MB (factory OC)
MB: MSI MS-7091 v.2
AUDIO: On-board (Tried with friens audio card too, but no luck)
HDD: 160G internal + 250G external

EDIT: BF2 runs badly too, just tested (Probably mod should move this to tech section)

My CPU is running at 100% so I think it might be that, but it ran fine few days ago

Anybody know what's a good CPU for LGA775 socket

P4 3.0ghz's are cheap, and I doubt your board support conroe...

Looks like it's the i915P motherboard so I would buy a P4 3.2 @ £61 or 90 euros

Would "INTEL PENTIUM D 820 2.8Hz/800MHz" work? it's 110€
All the IP4 I could find were over 180€

100% CPU usage for a P4 seems a bit high.
My AMD 64 3000+ 2GHz averages about 20-25% CPU usage. I'd say my CPU's on par with a 2.8-3Ghz P4, so I cant understand why out of the clear blue sky your CPU is performring terribly. Did you check for spyware or viruses?

End all processes besides taskmgr.exe and explorer.exe...
Make sure there not SYSTEM, NETWORK etc...) Only end processes under your PC's name.

Yeah done that, but still it's at 100%.

After you alt+tab to minimize BF2 then go to task manager and then double click on the cpu column to get the process that is using 100% of the processor and you will then be able to see what process is using your cpu to the max.   Look at that process and see if you can fix or stop that process if it doesnt effect the functionality of BF2142.

When I alt+tabbed out and checked what it was there wasn't anything else using it than BF2142.exe and it was only at 20%

But this is what it shows if I go back to game and leave it monitoring at the background
