I go to so many sites it's hard to answer your question. I guess if anything it always pisses me off when there is no search button or the search function is crap.

1. Make sure the layout isnt plain and boring.
2. Make sure the page isnt slow on loading.....waiting for pages to load sucks.
3. Make sure the color schemes are compatible. Hot pink background with neon yellow text is bad news. Keep it simple. (Gold background with black text, dark background with light text etc)
4. Keep it original. If your page looks the same as everyone elses....its kinda boring (imo)
5. Frames suck....I personally try to stay away from them.
