Knew of this kinda thing since the beginning, but I was too lazy to do it myself:

You basically disallow connections to the ad servers. May break TOS, I dunno. Do so at your own risk, we are not responsible for your actions.

Later in the thread, I'm told you it says how you can replace the ads with your own ads.

I knew this would happen eventually... but come on, do people really care that much about some fucking ads. I wonder how they can go around life without bitching about all the ads there.

They pay you back by running expensive stat tracking servers.

Oh, I got it! We have ads so Ranked servers are cheaper!

I would prefer it if the game itself was cheaper, but meh.

Hopefully this extra profit means we get the additional content we deserve

Oh, and I am so making my own custom ads

Ill post them too

Anyone know where the contact info is for these ad placements? I'm curious to see what kind of pricing they are doing to see who would be able to buy ads. Is it all corporate level ads, or could a small clan or a game website be able to afford an ad.

It might be more user friendly if there was a broad range of ads, rather than just all non battlefield related companies.

Then you have to click in the "Do you agree with this" thing to.

Anyway for the moment I have yet to see a ad and it's really gonna bother me that much because.

1: In all the main cities you see ads ALL OVER the place, some random ads here and there in cities ain't gonna make me puke or anything. It just ads to the gameplay.
2: I won't be looking at them when there are enemies close to me or far away that I can snipe down.

Still it did say in the EULA, if you want to play BF2142, you have to let them put up ads. It also says that if you don't want to have ads, do not install BF2142.

So where is the warning on the box.........where is the warning when you down load...if you dont agree ...how do you get your money back...

It is in the EULA, which is the form that you have to click "I agree" or "I disagree" when you are installing the game.

If you don't read the EULA, it's not EA's fault, it's yours.

Deal With It.

How can you read it when you have to start to install before you get The EULA........its too late by then youve bought it

This is prior to installing so you dont get to "deal with it"

Not in the UK it isn't, you can return the vast majority of games within a few days, whether the box is opened or not.

Obviously, you are screwed if you're in the US, where it seems most shops won't take back an opened game, but that's not EA's fault, it's the store's fault for having those policies.

1, Use Ccleaner before you play to wipe all your cookies.

Or

Do same as above, then surf lots of porn sites to get porn adverts in game

And, the EULA is almost the same for pretty much any game, to use the game, you HAVE to agree to put any and all of the programming onto your computer.
