I made some steel targets. Pics from page 31. They are a bit heavy, but you put it out there and hear the shots hit it. You don't have to go fix or tape the target. The bullets leave hit marks that you can spray paint over if you want it fresh for another shooter. More work hauling them and setting them up, but they're nice and give instant feedback for hits.
I'll bring other shit out too and always come home with more trash than I brought.

Very nice. Good price too. D you know if it is an original SVT-40, or a converted SVT-38?

Nice. Did it come with the bayonet? Or the tool?

sadly no
but that's ok
but that's ok
You're gonna need that tool man...that is, if you don't want tool marks on the stock.

it'll be WEEKS at best before i get to shoot it anyway, what is the tool used for exactly?
Dis-assembly/reassembly. Mainly used to unscrew the stock from the receiver. You can use an adjustable wrench, but you're liable to scratch/mark the shit out of the stock.

i have a tiny ass adjustable with rubber tips so i should be fine
i can probably pick one up online before i really need one anyway

At what ranges do you zero something like an AR-15?
I've heard it was about 25 yards, then its fine for all other distances.
Any clarification on that?

For hunting/target shooting, zero at 100 yards.M.O.A.B wrote:

What you're talking about is combat sighting which makes the rifle effective from 0 to a few hundred yards on a man sized target aiming at center of mass. (I know it's 0 to 400 for a .308, but I'm not sure what the upper range is for a .223)
