Still probably a good idea to get a DVD drive.
Likely in the next few years, the rest of the CD games will be phased out, all movies are already DVD format, and generally we're moving towards a total DVD standard.
Not that there's anything wrong with the old-timer games which could easily fit on CDs (personally, I sorta like Freelancer, an old 1-CD game... and where's my Freelancer 2!!!)
