So, in your view. If they wanted to make money for their families, they shouldn't be killing themselves? True, that can be the case, some are stupid though and still do it. Though, you can't kill people if you don't have some equipment to do it. If they guy worked somewhere, he wouldn't be trying to suicide in the first place. I am now confused as to why you think they wouldn't consider money. They would like to support their families, they get paid a large amount for that. Their family in turn gets that money. Supposing that they are stupid is not a valid argument. You simply cannot say that for sure, let alone base your whole theory about Saddam supporting them on it.
In my humble opinion, this whole money thing sounds too much like a western way of thinking... I doubt if the people who become suicide bombers are even remotely acquainted with that line of thought. I believe their sole motive has to do with their religion and the hatred that has been piling up over the years of suppression.
And either ways, if we are talking about the Palestinians in particular, I think that the amounts mentioned in the article are nothing compared to what these people have lost over the years. It would suffice for nothing substantial... worthy of giving one's life away.
