- US soldiers playing with guns again..
Hey, shit happens in war, get over it.
Made me laugh, you are right in this one.GunSlinger OIF II wrote:
holy shit, a reporter in a warzone, in the middle of a crossfire, gets killed.....I bet if he was doing the local fucking weather hed still be a live. WTF do you think happens in battle "Hey TIME OUT we got a reporter on the field, dont shoot till theyre in a safe distance" "HEY HAJI! DONT SHOOT AT US TILL THIS JOURNALIST GETS THEIR STORY, OK GUYS...THANKS" you got a small childs perception of the world dick
Actually, it did, until the american soldiers started shooting anything that moves. Now it seems they've moved the goalposts...again.kr@cker wrote:
writing press on your truck, flak jacket, helmet, forehead, ass whatever still doesn't mean you get to run around warzones with impunity...............
And? Does that mean you're allowed to shoot at press? British troops seem to be able to distinguish the difference ok.kr@cker wrote:

the stupid idiot asked for it, what does he think is going to happen, driving in the middle of a battle, oh no, he gets killed.... its his own stupid fault, the prick wasnt even with a military unit, he went out with his crew alone. im glad hes dead, proves a point.
oh yeah, what the hell am i thinking?GunSlinger OIF II wrote:
dont confuse the sentiment of this thread with facts and common sense. American soldiers have horns on their helmets and blood dripping from their chins, remember?{BMF}*Frank_The_Tank wrote:
I just read this article on yahoo..........This isnt the first time a reporter was killed in a war zone. The article says he was shot in the back by Iraqis, and their truck was stopped by a truck full of Iraqis and they were fired upon by them....hence why he was shot in the back. The mini-van which was acting as an ambulance was picking up wounded Iraqi soldiers after the U.S. opened fire on them. The man wasnt purposely shot in the head by U.S. soldiers....hes in the middle of a fire fight, he happened to catch a round. It sucks, yes, but its not like one of our guys walked up and executed him.

Ok I'll remember that next time I see a US soldier dead on the news. Guess it's their fault for being there. FUCK 'EM!GunSlinger OIF II wrote:
you know what, and i dont give a fuck how it sounds. I dont see a god damn thing that was done wrong in this situation.DoctorFruitloop wrote:

ummm....ok?
I normally defend the US as a whole and admire the bravery of their armed forces, as I do the British Armed Forces, going into situations that I can only imagine, but your total disrespect for a man who has been unlawfully killed by American troops just reinforces what a large proportion think of the US's approach to armed conflict.
for reals. I havent been in the worst of fire fights, TXVeteran512 has some pretty crazy shit with his platoon. but honestly, i get shocked, fucking shocked, at how little in touch the majority of the bf2s community is with the reality of war. people die. people die when they dont have to. people die when they dont have to and you are always gonna wonder if you had done the slightest little thing would the outcome have been different or would it have remained the same.ATG wrote:

Yes there are children losing limbs and lives. Yes the actions of these insurgents is considered unlawful and as a result the armed forces of the world are there. Someone does something unlawful, the authorities deal with it.GunSlinger OIF II wrote:

I fail to see where the difference lies in this reporter's death being deemed unlawful and the perpetrator being brought to justice and answer for his/her crime.
Resorting to profanity just because you disagree with something wasn't necessary.

this is dick white trying to get a rise out of me. not gonna work. ill agree with you then buddy, a soldier chooses to be put in that position and on top of that, realizes that how easily they could die. thats why we got a half a million life insurance policy. where is your outrage over the thousands of dead iraqi women and children? you are funny dick white, keep em coming : )RicardoBlanco wrote:

odd how little outrage there is over terrorists purposefully targeting/kindnapping/executing reporters and such, yet one wanders into a firefight and gets shot, possibly by US troops, suddenly there are cries of murder

Let me just direct you to a thread probably very close to your heart, this one.
You may notice that I posted in there offering my condolences to someone I don't know, have never met, but still it can't be a nice thing to go through.
Imagine how you would have reacted if my post had said....

when everything goes good, they're called coalition forces, something bad happens, they're suddenly US troops
i think everyone here knows what war is we all obviosly play bf2 and we all know the good guys have thier name and rank is printed in blue over thier head. .... oh and bad guys have it printed in red but you have to look at them for a few seconds before you see it.
its a shame about the life lost. its war not a playground. if you don't want to be shot or shot at get the hell out.
much love to all the gi's who risk themselves to do what thier country asks.

execute the murder and give the reporters family cash and then forget it.

the same way I would have reacted when you got people who really have no idea what war is like calling american soldiers murderers without even know what the fuck happened.DoctorFruitloop wrote:

initial injury received: "while caught up in US/[terrorist] crossfire", second shot "purposefully" a headshot while inside a moving vehicle, that's some damn good shooting, and of course we can see from this article that all rounds and injuries were of US/NATO caliber, we can also see from this article that no terrorist force would ever use US/NATO weapons recovered/stolen from the field, we can also clearly see from this article whether or not either vehicle was told to stop and/or failed to follow directions of the US troops
I just give in.... words actually fail me.
