Wasn't the Red Cross the ones that demanded the detainees have curtains for privacy. . .and then the detainees did exactly what the guards knew they would and hanged themselves since they had the 'privacy' to get away with it.....

And I love all the US bashing in this thread.  Shows that people from the UK can really think for themselves.

The presence of UK armed forces in Iraq "exacerbates the security problems" and they should "get out some time soon", the head of the British Army has said.
Chief of the General Staff Sir Richard Dannatt told the Daily Mail that the military campaign fought in 2003 had "effectively kicked the door in".
He also said that initial planning for the post-war period had been poor.
For those with an aversion to the BBC, i.e those that prefer 'fair and balanced' news:

FOX News wrote:

LONDON —  Britain's new army chief called for a withdrawal of British troops from Iraq, warning that the military's presence there only exacerbates security problems, according to an interview published Thursday.

Gen. Richard Dannatt described British Prime Minister Tony Blair's Iraq policies as "naive," declaring that while Iraqis might have welcomed coalition forces following the ouster of Saddam Hussein, the good will has since evaporated after years of violence.
Troubled relationship? I wonder how long the once-proud UK can continue to pander to the US like a little fluffy poodle.
I refuse to look at the UK as a poodle to the US. After their valiant defense of England during WW2 and the undying pride and resolute defiance to the Nazi war machine, I have nothing but respect for them. They are NOBODY'S poodle!!!! They can and do speak for themselves, their history shows this.

My great  great great uncle who fought in the war of 1812 is laughing in his grave right now.

That would be a great slogan for the next British canidate.
