I read that Kim Jong Il was saying something about sanctions against him will be considered as an act of war. That is dumb.
I hope they have a draft...I'm bored.millhous wrote:

My only fear is what China does about this, they have publicly said they dont like the DPRK having nukes but if they dont do anything and NATO/SK/Japab/ect does then China might either get into this as a chance to expand there borders or the might get alittle afraid and nukes falling near there country and support the DPRK(not likely at all.
what happened to TTHF? he was cool.

This is why I like living in a nuclear-free country.

evil will triumph because good is dumb!!!!
Im a little skeptical the DPRK would actually declare war. I mean what are they goign to do invade South Korea? Im not saying its impossible but I think North Korea acting as the agreesor is about the dumbest thing they could do. The defense for South Korea has been formulated for 60 years now ? Honestly a declaration of war from N.Korea would be like "Hello come bomb the shit out of me please"

Why shouldnt North Korea have nuclear weapons? Its not like they are the only country with them. The USA, France, Russia, China, Pakistan and India all have them. Some of you claim Kim Jong Il is mad and should not be trusted but you trust Bush the man that described North korea as being part of "the axis of evil" along with Iraq. Do you not think Kim Jong Il saw this as a threat from America? North Korea and Iraq being mentioned together and Iraq being invaded, of course Kim Jong Il feels the need to develop weapons although if he just explains that he has no oil or other resources America could make money from he will probably be ok. Either nobody should be allowed have nuclear weapons or everybody should be allowed have them, fuck this double standards bullshit.
There is a difference between NK having them and the US. We actually hesitate to use them, will NK, or Al Quada for that matter? I don't think so. Please, stop trying to make this harder than it already is. By disarming everyone, you let those who follow the law get destroyed while the others break it and nuke away. Or, if you give them all nukes, welcome to the apocalypse.dquinner wrote:

Thats garbage having nuclear capability doesnt make you legitimate. Theie army isnt up to the standards of the rest of the current nuclear powers. Thier economy is trash that starves its own people. Their leader is unstable and launches missiles and threatens to sell nuke tech to Americas enemies. He signed the nuclear non proilferation treaty and broke it. The NAEA the UN China and every outher relevant country says they are not capable of being responsible with nukes. You don't break into the nuke club by making one you get in by creating a powerfull country with a capable army and a strong economy and proves itself stable and level headed. North Korea has done NONE of these things so the big boys are not letting them in end of story.dquinner wrote:

In all probability, I think the "physical action" hes talking about will amount to nothing more than a bit of bunker-building, and some military exercises. Posturing, basically.
So ronery.
I believe that Kim has quite a lot of public support. What you you think would happen to you if you spoke out against the government over there? You would be shot.Kmarion wrote:
Imagine if you lived in NK and your govt. was taking the actions and saying what they are.
Looks like China and Russia will not allow any sanctions of course. Even though they think something should be done. I'm betting Japan will have the bomb soon. This is going to turn out great.

More threats
North Korea threatened Japan on Thursday with "strong countermeasures" if it goes ahead with tougher sanctions over Pyongyang's reported nuclear test.
"We will take strong countermeasures," said Song Il-ho, North Korean ambassador in charge of diplomatic normalization talks with Japan, according to a report by Japan's Kyodo news agency from Pyongyang.
"The specific contents will become clear if you keep watching," Song said. "We never speak empty words."

korea lost the last war they had with japan.
I have a hard time seeing kim doing anything with two of our carrier groups, much less the tech/financially superior japan
japan has been waiting for an excuse to move its military war machine
its only the NK "government" thats a problem, not the people living their. you d realise they have pretty much imposed a world media blackout, most north koreans probably don't even know whats happening with what they know of the rest of the world, they're probably under the impression they're living in a wonderful country, so either way nuking an entire country ain't the solution...wiping our NK's rulers and supporters is probably a more useful idea.Sgt.Gene wrote:
I say we just H-Bomb the fuck out of them if they start a war. It is senseless to keep sending US and British troops into battle, when this can be resolved with 1 bomb. NK is hated by almost every country, so atlease we wouldnt piss off most of the UN.
in fact, lets look at this method in another way. imagine if cancer was treated in a similar fashion, rather than targeting the small area of cancer within the body, they just wiped out the entire body leaving everyting dead. The cancer would be dead, but what was the point.....yuo haven't helped the rest of the body.
after the test, that movie pop into my head.Jenkinsbball wrote:

Who knows what will happen.
God, our 15-35 year-old male demographic sure is bloodthirsty, aren't we. It's funny how quick people are to call for military action at the first hint of provocation.
Heaven forbid these people ever find their way to a poker table.

Im not calling for military action. I am making observations and predictions. that is if you were referring to me...The_Shipbuilder wrote:
