Genocide and Ignorance.
BF2 is a game. Can you notice the difference between it and real life?Iron_Sentinel wrote:
Why put war and invasion up there? If people didnt like those words they probably wouldnt like BF2, and subsequently probably wouldnt be on these forums...

Almost every one of my history teachers were extreme liberals who were more interested in indoctrinating their classes with their political opinions than discussing material from the curriculum (which was in itself left-leaning and light on actual history). I had to learn on my own. Same with geography classes, and the civics one that I was unable to weasel out of (wanted to skip it because of my experience with similar classes).
Ironically (aside from foreign language, math and biology), AFJROTC was one class that I expected to be political, but instead provided an interesting four years jam-packed full of interesting tidbits of history, math, navigation, economics, psychology and management. Makes me wish I seriously pursued a military career. Not too late, I suppose, but I'm damned lazy.
That being said, I didn't vote for the word 'liberal.'

Shame on all people who voted for liberal or conservative and didn't vote for poverty and starvation. Both liberal and conservative aren't bad words. It's the meaning people give to them what is wrong. I didn't put politicians on purpose. Check your dictionary and come back.
Ignorance, for if we had no ignorance we would have none of the others.
Just the one - ignorance - for it is the root cause of all the others.
- two people on opposite sides of the world thinking the exact same thing at almost the exact same time - maybe there's hope for the world yet...Pubic wrote:

I know its not on the list but mine is Religion.
If there wasn't Religions the amount of wars and discriminations would be greatly reduced. I beleive the world would be a happier place....
But then again maybe people would be a bit depressed knowing that when they die they will become compost?

What's depressing about that?

genoside: have no damn clue what it means!!
If you're a 'native' european-australian - then it's what you're forefathers did to the real native population of australia (though largely not deliberately).warhead0 wrote:

If you're a true 'native' australian then you should know exactly what it means and I guess it was sarcasm?
Yes, without the Ten Commandments, we'd be so much better off. The number of wars and discriminations would increase exponentially without values to keep our human nature in check. As an example, lust for power and hate for the Jews motivated Hitler and as a result the Allies had to pound him into submission. Religion had nothing to do with it.malarkeycoon wrote:

So if everyone was just more informed we'd have no genocide, no terrorism, no war? Wrong. Very intelligent people have still killed each other. Not because they're ignorant, but because of greed, hate, and a desire for power or some combination of all three. Education may be part of the solution to poverty and starvation, but again, human nature is coming into play. People are starving in 3rd world countries run by greedy dictators who funnel all their money into making a massive military force - N. Korea. Educating the communist leaders will do nothing to help the common people. War and invasion aren't pleasant, but they are necessary to guard against those who seek to harm or destory us.Pubic wrote:

Nothing is depressing about that. But that's not to say some people may not find it depressing.Scorpion0x17 wrote:

Congratulations. You picked a war that had nothing to do with religion. I didn't say ALL wars were caused by religion. Far from it. But they certainly were an influence (moreso in the past that currently, granted). And what affect do the 10 commandments have anyway? By breaking these rules it doesn't mean anything bad will happen to you. The Germans killed millions of Russians and took their land and in return the Russians killed millions of Germans and took their land. Russia broke the 10 commandments as well by essentially doing the same thing as Germany (minus the genocide). People do what they can get away with. It's nothing to do with a list written by some guys in the past.Stingray24 wrote:

Look what you've got me doing. I'm rambling again....
1. I agree, Bush and the rest of our government aren't serious enough about illegal immigration, but liberals have not helped.Ikarti wrote:
1. You realize that Bush is doing a hell of a lot to make it easier for illegals to get it, and last time I checked he's not liberal.
2. You think illegal immigrants are some kind of marauding berzerkers.
3. I am fairly sure you do not live in South Central.
4. Liberals drilling for oil off the coast? What are you talking about? Again, last time I checked liberals were too busy hugging trees to drill for oil.
5. I am not positive on this, but I don't believe illegals qualify for Medicare.
6. Guns are not toys and I don't think you understand that.
7. Liberals wanting to see Israel gone like terrorists do is talk radio rhetoric. I'm starting to see where these opinions are coming from. You are ignoring the wrongs the Israelis also commit. Fencing people in and bulldozing their homes is NOT defending their ideals in my estimation.
8. People are being hard on Bush for a few reasons. Kicking the Republicans while they're down is one reason. Another reason is because Bush promised to be hard on North Korea and, what a surprise, didn't deliver on that promise.
9. National debt not a problem? Holy shit! How can you say that?
10. Grounded? Spend some more time being a kid. Worry about fart jokes and who's going out with who for a little longer. Play outside instead of arguing with flametrolls like me over the internet. It's not a bad thing. At the very least, stop getting your opinions from the news and talk radio. Those mediums are all about opinion now. You say you don't read newspapers, They're better for you. Hell, read the LA Times if it makes you happy.
2. No, not all illegals are dangerous. But they’re not all peaceful, either. I don't envy people living near the southern border with criminals coming across the border and having to protect their homes because the border patrol isn't given the tools or authority to stop it.
3. How do you know where he lives?
4. He said liberals are trying to ban drilling and then they whine about gas prices and blame Bush, which is true. Now prices are going back down after someone finally found a bunch of oil where we could drill. It could be even better if we would drill in Alaska and tell the tree huggers to stick it.
5. Maybe not medicare, but they’re getting free healthcare in any case. How are we going after them for the cost? Put a judgment on their credit report and watch them leave the country? Meanwhile, taxpayers and the hospitals foot the bill.
6. Just because he wants to protect himself as a law-abiding citizen doesn’t mean he thinks guns are toys. Typical liberal thinking: he wants to carry a gun for protection, he must not know what he’s doing.
7. Your statement proves his point. Liberals would rather point fault at Israel and ignore what Hezbollah and Hamas have been doing for years. Israel has come to the table for peace time and time again, yet they are still constantly attacked by terrorists. Pick a side, I’ll take Israel.
8. The US has been negotiating with N. Korea for years and they have broken the agreements. We’re trying the diplomatic route that you liberals like and now you're complaining! When we end up bombing N. Korea back to the stone age, you’ll howl then, too.
9. He said he doesn’t see gas prices as a problem, not the national debt.
10. Stop getting your opinions from the news? Doesn't one watch, read, or listen and decide an opinion? I think all news is about opinions, gone are the days that we just get the news. Everything has a slant. That’s why I don’t watch the mainstream press because it’s all liberal bs. Read the newspapers for better news? New York Times fabrication and leaks anyone?
Excuse me? You do realize that in most societies they already had laws against stealing and killing. The ideas of honoring your parents, not lying, and adultery were very much a given in many societies, and some even had laws pertaining to them. The rest of the 10 commandments are religious dogma crap that have nothing to do with people being better people, it's about "God" stroking his ego.Stingray24 wrote:

Greed, hate and a desire for power that is all born of ignorance.Stingray24 wrote:

Conservative- stuck in the past, never accually uses their head, and generally fucks everything up

Ignorance, all the other words are are a result of it.
