I've actually done a bit of research and nowadays the worst crime Castro commits is holding what are known as 'prisoners of conscience', i.e. activists opposed to the communist government. America didn't join the war just because of pearl harbor... they also joined for the reason that their ships are sending equipments to aid the British, which were getting sunked by German U-boats... Britain would have fallen if the Americans didn't send aid.
